I don't use Actions unless I write them myself. Sometimes I don't feel like doing effects over and over so I write the action and use that.

What a shame and Ignorant people we are trying to motivate...
We are getting requests for getting into the State Chapter but when we ask people to take the survey they are not taking it.
If people cannot take a simple survey, how can they help themselves.
The Join State chapters campaign is going on for months now and it is pathetic that people are still sitting and cribbing and doing nothing but crying on IV forums.
It is really a shame on so called Highly skilled immigrants. Rather it must be highly skilled unmotivated lazy cowards.

Regarding your H1B status, please read the following newsletter from murthy.com
Effect of Travel While in H1B / L-1 Status and Pending I-485 (http://www.murthy.com/news/n_efftrv.html)
Traveling on AP doesn't necessarily switch you out of H1B. If you are working for the same employer after entering on AP, you can still extend your H1 and continue to be on H1 status.
Based on my limited understanding, your lawyer is wrong when he says "3 year degree issue is mostly with PERM applications and not with others". 3 year degree issue comes up during I-140 stage. Nowadays USCIS has a strict requirement that the degree should be a "single source" 4 year degree for EB2 applications.
As for the successful outcome of trying to downgrade your application to EB3, your labor certification should be flexible enough to allow your application to be downgraded to EB3.
IMO it is better to get a second opinion/consultation with a reputed lawyer. If I were you I wouldn't trust your current lawyer.

My wife had recently changed her status from H4 to H1 and had applied her SSN and got it.

HI!
I have two I-140(both approved) & want to port earlier priority date of 10/21/2003(EB-3 Classification) to my other approved I-140(EB2 Class-priority date 11/14/2005). My EB-3 I-140 was not approved at the time of filling I-485 in July'2007. Both my lawyer & me have written couple of letters to USCIS to do this but still nothing is done. We received a reply to one of my letter asking us to file I-824 "requesting an amended approval notice with retention of earlier priority date". Both I-140 are from the same employer & I am still with them. My questions are 1) do I need to file I-824 or this will be eventually done by USCIS by reminder letters? (2) Will filling I-824 will harm my case in anyway? (3) What "reason for request" to choose on I-824 when filling- as none of the existing ones fit my case( can I say "see attached" & mention ""requesting an amended approval notice with retention of earlier priority date" on anither sheet of paper? (if any one has this experience please guide me) (4) how long does it take to get this done whether we file I-824 or otherwise?(5)Any good lawyer for this?

We do see such threads on the forum occasionally. There are several instances where members have posted negative comments about consulting companies and how employees are unhappy working for them.
I want to understand the reasons why people are not filing lawsuits against such companies yet? Why are we not reporting them to DOL and USCIS? Especially after filing I485 and expiry of 6 months, people are in a better position to file lawsuits against such employers.

I have heard 3-4 months, but I am wondering if there is legal time limit or if this is a "good faith" limit.

The time limit is 6 months. But if 6 months have already elapsed after filing I485, then you are free to go anywhere.
