Storing my files so that apple can dictate what I can or can't have on their servers? Companies essentially owning my content?
Yeah I think I'll pass.
Cloud based services are anti-technology, with garbage like this companies have no incentive to increase capacities on storage devices and all content would be under a corporation's server who's sole basis is to make money while holding your data hostage.
Apple specifically is one of the most unethical companies out there.
Why they hell are you on these forums then?
You, along with others, are making a pretty big assumption. Why does it have to be exclusively streaming? Why couldn't apple allow you to download the itunes you want onto your computer, but at the SAME TIME, allow you stream it if you wanted?
The data cent is huge and costly. And if you think about, we can already stream 90 seconds of a song on itunes, so why would they need such a big data center if their only plan was itunes streaming?
I think itunes streaming is coming, but I think its a small part of something much bigger.

Interesting, but I somehow doubt they'll go through as it doesn't follow their environmental agenda too much. It could look good if instead of going with a high gloss finish they would use a sandblasted finish where you wouldn't see the weaving and would be harder to scratch.

Never mind, most people got it.

A lot of you are a bunch of cheap asses. Most of you don't understand the amount of work that goes into producing these apps. They're not just PDFs that you download and flip through. You get both an interactive version and print version of the the magazine. The reason print subscriptions are so cheap is because they don't really care about print sales. You're paying them to give your information to them so they can use it for marketing purposes. Thus another reason the ipad/iphone version are more expensive is because Apple won't allow them to collect your information. Conde is currently working on a subscription model, but it also how they are going to be able to negotiate with Apple.

Only question. Why?
Some say Apple need to buy Netflix. Have those of you even considered what Netflix charges for monthly streaming?
$8
Apple will never let customers eat that much for so little. The day Apple buys Netflix, DVDs would stop, and streaming would go up to $30 a month.
Promised.
Agree. If Apple bought Netflix they'll have to raise prices. Netflix is inexpensive, Apple is typically premium.
Also, Netflix Inc is quite expensive ($12B) and other than a subscriber base, I'm not sure if they have technology or business model that isn't too hard to duplicate...at least nothing strategic to Apple. P.

Hopefully this wont start more "Steve Jobs is near death" rumors.
Well, he is considerably nearer to death than he was 30 years ago.

199/7 get Marsh out of the Commentary box!!!!!!
If we get a 250 lead and survive until tea then I think England will sneak this..... come on Giles..... KING of SPAIN!
We're listening to the same audio :) I think that if England survive to tea the score is just about OK already.
It's a great way to end the series!

You think his fat ass would blend?
Can't believe MacRumors wrote a story on this. Werenn't the 2 or 3 threads on it enough?
It's funny. Come on!
Besides, from the dude with the baseball bat to the "Will It Blend," the iPad seems to hold up for quite a while. I'm pretty impressed.

I'm not arguing that this isn't 3D. I'm arguing that this video is deemed as glasses-free.
Did you actually think about what you wrote, before you wrote it?
Clearly, in the video there were no glasses of any kind involved (in the video you posted the gentlemen only used glasses because they were a convenient way to attach the IR sensors to his head). So, if you aren't arguing that this isn't 3D, and it clearly uses no glasses, what exactly is your argument?
I don't know about anyone else, but at the 1 min mark where the "targets" are being shown, they definitely look like they are protruding/jumping off the screen. I certainly don't have any experience or knowledge of this technology, but as far as I am concerned that is 3D.
You are not alone. Even in the video that Mooey posted the guy clearly states how the targets appear as if the are out in front of the screen.

We will have to wait to see what FCP X will turn out to be, but Apple said they are fully dedicated to pro's, so I expect FCP X to still be a pro app, with all the pro functionality...I dont get why others are still balking at FCPX as iMovie like?
Ive said this in other posts before, "If you treat it like iMovie, then its iMovie!".

I believe Apple does this on purpose. I remember when I had the 3G and "updated" it with the latest iOS and it turned it into a clunker. Apple didn't care and they didn't give people the option to downgrade the "upgrade". Apple we love your products, but please understand that we are hip to your tricks now. Geez.
Don't really know what you're talking about, but you can put any iOS version you want on your phone if you know how to use itunes correctly...
Tell us then because I am absolutely done with this PoS device now unless I can downgrade.
I'm obligated to fellow consumers not to keep giving money to companies who deliberately bork your device to force an upgrade.
Absolutely had enough of Apple now. Screw 'em.

I wonder if that is the same version we get in the states?I'd guess they're the same but I couldn't say for certain, having not sampled an American version.
I also really like Old Speckled Hen Ale also. I don't know if they are the same from across the pond thou even thou it says it is brewed there.Again, I'm not sure.
There was a bit of controversy here a while back when they changed the draught version of Old Speckled Hen to reduce the alcohol content the brewer's notion was that if it wasn't as strong they could advertise it more as a social 'session' beer. Didn't go down well, that. :p

You know, all I personally want is to see Apple fitting a Merom inside a MacBook (non-pro, yes)... I mean, why shouldn't they do that?
Sure, back in the PowerPC days, the differentiation made by Apple between their consumer and professional lines was based both on features AND processors... In a way, it made some sense, as the supply of PowerPC chips was sometimes constrained... Since the G3, G4 and G5 families were alternately produced by IBM and Moto-Freescale, that was less of a problem, as the consumer line would never cannibalize supply for the professional line and vice-versa. I know I'm speculating here, but it sure makes some sense.
Anyway... This worked fine back when Apple was, platform-wise, isolated from the rest of the other computer manufacturers. Now they can't afford to lose customers to other brands, and let's face it: if the Core 2 Duo processors will, as it appears, cost the same as their Core Duo counterparts did when they were launched, why shouldn't Apple slap them across the board? They could always deplete their stock of Core Duo processors on their Mac mini line, while lowering them to their original $499 and $599 pricetags...
Just my 0,02... It's true, I'll have to get my hands on a MacBook until the end of September, so this is mostly wishful thinking :o . Anyway, am I too off-base? (I'm guessing not...).Don't worry. They will do it by Thanksgiving at the latest. Top speed will remain 2GHz. But battery life will be doubled. :p
Little doubt Apple buys their processors "Just-In-Time" so there is no stockpile of obsolete processors to deplete. Mini will get Core 2 as well by Thanksgiving.

If the widescreen comes out this year, I expect it on the same week of the Zune. middle of November. later than that is too late for Xmas season. If that's the case then maybe we will see it at MWSF.
