ABC News reports (http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory?id=13343409) that Apple CEO Steve Jobs has agreed to participate in a book about his life.Simon & Schuster announced Sunday that Walter Isaacson's "iSteve: The Book of Jobs" will be published in early 2012. Isaacson has been working on the long-rumored biography since 2009 and has interviewed Jobs, members of his family, colleagues at Apple and competitors. The official biography will be called "iSteve: The Book of Jobs" and is written by Walter Isaacson. While many books have been published about Jobs' life, this is the first with his official approval. Isaacson has previously written best-selling biographies of Benjamin Franklin and Albert Einstein.
While it had previously been revealed (http://www.macrumors.com/2010/02/15/steve-jobs-to-participate-in-authorized-biography/) that Jobs was allowing Isaacson to work on the book, the name and 2012 release date were just announced.

Yes, the 11" is definitely an awesome notebook.
I'm looking for a 'main machine'.
For the long hours I'm on a computer and the type of work I do the 13" is the sensible choice, you get a noticeable amount of added screen real estate which I appreciate.

also, if a true widescreen video ipod is coming, I am pretty sure will be at least $450, more than $100 if you compare the top of the line ipod. Right there, there is a distinction.

What about the mid 2009 white MacBooks?
That was the last non-LED white MacBook. Is there a firmware update for that to unlock support for 8 GB RAM?

Maybe Apple is going towards the "DARK SIDE"
They recently changed their website menu bar to Liquid Metal Black:

Looks like the top of a quick look window, it's not a new UI element or look.

I think it's pretty damn impressive considering it's emulated.
Not even sure how much benefit the second core confers in an application like office anyway. What it means is that the top of the range mac now available runs the application as well as the same place/priced machine from 1 year ago, make of that what you will.

Wait so, how are we supposed to report No Coverage in an area with, well, no coverage?
The APP says you can submit a report after the fact when you are not at the place of the event.

I'm full of suggestions, if only because I've been through this exercise many times before (I used to belong to another online group that got together at MWSF.) Mass dinners are difficult to organize and problematic. Somebody has to take charge, keep a count and make the reservations -- essential for a large group. Some people won't be able to make it on any given night. Then, even after you get to the restaurant, you only get to talk to the people on either side of you and across the table. Somebody always seems to depart early without leaving enough money to cover their meal. It's just a less than ideal situation all-around, IMO. If meeting other MR members is the objective, I strongly recommend picking one or two times a day on more than one day to gather at the seating areas in South Hall. Agree to mark your badges in some unique way. Smaller more manageable groups will form to go off for lunch, dinner or drinks. This really does work better than trying to get everyone into one restaurant.

I saw this story this morning, and thought it was one of the stupidest reports I've seen in awhile. You could either track some random person who has the device for a few feet, or blow $20 to 'plant' one in someone's backpack. Never mind the rest of the money you'd be spending just to have devices nearby to pick up the signal. This story ranks up next to 'German police battle giant parrot' in importance.

I thought you were just exaggerating, but after buying Kinect this weekend I found out it requires you to place the sensor:
- within 2 to 6 feet of the floor
- where the floor is visible to the sensor
- in a position where there is 6 to 8 feet of "free" space for single player or 8 feet of "free" space for two players
- centered below or on top of your TV (no angles, TV mount not included)
- within clear sight (given)
- well lit area with minimal ambient noise
Ridiculous. You would need at minimum a 42" HDTV and a radius of 8 feet around the Kinect sensor to play adequately.
I refuse to complicate my living room setup by putting the 360 in there. So, I guess I"ll just send the damn thing back as there is no possible furniture configuration in my game room to meet those requirements.
Too bad.
I can understand the requirements can be taxing on many rooms.
You mentioned a 42" TV. Not sure why that is ridiculous, as many users sit under 30" away from 27 and 20 inch monitors.
I have used kinect on 32inch, 42 inch and a 54 inch sets.
Of course the 54" is optimum, but the 32 inch is still enjoyable.
For a first generation device I am very pleased with the new toy.

Among the silliest concerns I've read about recently. You can be tracked by your shoes up to 60 feet away! (oh, and that is unobstructed feet). ******, from 60 feet, I think I can track you using my eyes. And the trackee can see the observer.
More manufactured paranoia.

I agree. There's nothing too out of the ordinary that makes me go whoa, just some logical evolution going on there..

FOX NEWS reporting analysts expect T-Mobile to be next USA carrier to get the iPhone. See story at http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/06/11/t-mobile-carry-iphone-says-analyst/?test=latestnews#commenting.
Me, I'm predicting SPRINT will get it, and that Best Buy stores will be selling them in September, 2010. If I'm correct, your applause will be sufficient.

Are you just making this up as you go along? The lid on the 13" MBA is no thicker than the 11" AND it has thinner bezels. I also fail to see how thinner bezels would have any effect on the keyboard size or the number of USB ports.
Just weight an MBA 13, and figure out why it weighs more and costs more.
And if you shrunk the bezel while still using a standard sized display (same cost), the keyboard would stick out the sides, which would look pretty whacky.

Is it really that tough for you to understand? Apple sells two phones. Those are the two most popular phones sold.
The other manufacturers ALL sell many, many models of phones. The total sales of those many phones combined equal to a number that is bigger than Apple's total sales.
I guess it is best to let it go. Too many people unwilling to compare like things (like IPhone 4 vs Nexus S or Galaxy xyz). They want to do perform some comparison of dissimilar objects because they desperately want the iPhone to be losing at something.
They throw out Android as an App platform even though they still sell container loads of phones on 1.6 that will never be upgraded to a compatible OS. They will redefine winning because they hate Apple.
It is weird, kind of creepy and getting old.
