Ready, Set, Met !! - Glam Slam


"Well, I've been in a track suit for the last year, so it's a little bit weird, it's nice, I need to get into it again. Glamour." That was Madonna, in blue Stella McCartney, talking about receiving dressed up last nighttime for the Costume Institute Gala at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Glamour summed up the night alright, which was a tribute to Alexander McQueen...seems like everyone and their mom was there and looking wonderful.



Bright Ladies
Jennifer Lopez commanded the carpet in a bright fuchsia Gucci gown with flowery detailing. Gisele Bundchen went with impressive red McQueen, while "Glee's" Lea Michele also went with red in a pretty Escada gown. Her co-star Dianna Agron wore red Michael Kors and Mary-Kate Olsen did a vintage red Givenchy gown. Eva Mendes rocked a silk pleated one shouldered exciting blue Stella McCartney.

Gwyneth Paltrow looked smokin' in a naked colored backless Stella McCartney gown. Kate Hudson in silky gold Stella McCartney accessorized with a headpiece and her sweet baby bump! Jessica Alba also worked her bump in a golden lame Ralph Lauren and talked to us about receiving ready for the big occasion.

"Couple of hours, takes a little longer when you're pregnant, I think. I feel wonderful, thank you."

Taylor Swift went with a more mature look in a nude lace J. Mendel. "I just keep staring at other people's dresses," she told us. "It's so glamorous, I just love it and I'm just so excited to be-- every girl wants to dress up and go to a ball you know, it's wonderful."

"Twilight's" Ashley Greene looked beautiful in a one-of-a-kind nude strapless Donna Karan, Rene Zellweger went with nude Carolina Herrera and Sarah Jessica Parker went with a glittery, neutral McQueen.


"I feel lucky, it's a McQueen dress from 2005," she said. "They were nice enough to let me borrow it for this occasion. It's a bittersweet evening, but it's thrilling to see so many people want to be here to celebrate him and recognize and recall all those extraordinary things he did."

Blake Lively wore Chanel, of course, her beige tulle paillette embroidered dress with chiffon sash is from the Fall/Winter 2009/10 Haute Couture Collection.


"Oh my gosh the Met ball is always like Cinderella night," she said. "My favorite part is seeing everybody else's dresses and you know getting to come with Karl (Lagerfeld), it is a dream come true. "

Chic In Black
Beyonce in a formfitting, cleavage baring, embroidered Pucci was booed by photogs for not stopping to take photos of her dress! Penelope Cruz stunned in black Oscar de la Renta and Rihanna showed off her curves in a black peekaboo lace Stella McCartney.

Royal Influence
Did Will and Kate's wedding influence the night? Demi Moore paired her black feathered Prabal Gurung dress, British Philip Treacy fascinator. Fergie in platinum lace Marchesa also went with a glam headpiece. "It's so serendipitous," Fergie said. "I picked this gown a while back and then all this royal wedding stuff came up and I was so obsessed, I feel like a duchess as well. I mean hahaha," she laughed.

Princess Kate's wedding dress WAS the talk of the red carpet and earned high marks from everyone. "Oh my gosh, her dress was incredible," Blake Lively raved. "And then the maid of honor dress too was just as stunning. Amazing it was so, so beautiful, so elegant and just perfect."

"I'm an amazing fan of hers," SJP told us. "I think she far exceeded anything that anybody could have dreamed of, I thought it was perfect."


"I loved it, I thought it was classic, I think that it was just beautiful, it was very Grace Kelly," Jessica Alba said. "It was wonderful, she looked happy."

"Fantastic, it's amazing it was very funny for my family in Colombia," Sofia Vergara revealed, "because it's exactly the same dress that one of my aunts wore 35 years ago, so hahaha," she laughed. "So like for us it's been a whole week of funny emails
